Regional Events

NCRRC Fiscal Forum
March 28-29, 2013 in Chicago, IL

The NCRRC Fiscal Forum aims to increase the capacity of states to address the fiscal requirements of Part B IDEA, providing state fiscal staff an opportunity for networking with their job-alike peers. Participants will have the opportunity to collectively review essential elements of fiscal accountability requirements; discuss their shared understanding of fiscal monitoring/accountability and recent OSEP guidance; and exchange insights on common challenges and strategies, solutions, and tools currently being used to meet Part B IDEA fiscal requirements.

Thinking Through Collaboration Training (A Guide for Teacher Effectiveness)
February 25-March 1, 2013 in Guam

NCRRC collaborated with WRRC and with support from Guam CEDDERS, to provide an intensive training program for Pacific entity teams of general educators and special educators to build their knowledge and skills for collaborating and using a decision-making process for ensuring educational success for all students. This training provided specifics on implementing strategies at the local school level and provided leaders an opportunity to identify ways to support their teachers implementation. In addition to this on-site training, there will post-training activities (on-going coaching and support) to fully train education teams to meaningfully implement the concepts at the school level.

NCRRC Regional Communities of Practice
Regional communities provide opportunities for States to share problem solving and best practices in the following areas: Disproportionality, addresing cultural competency, factors contributing to disproportionality, and identification of interventions; Early Childhood, addressing Part C service delivery approachings and SPP/APR issues; Fiscal, for state level fiscal administrators focuses on the use of IDEA funds.
