Western Regional Resource Center(WRRC)

he WRRC is a project within the Technical Assistance and Consulting Services (TACS), a research project of the University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at the University of Oregon.

The WRRC serves the Special Education Agencies and Part C Lead Agencies in Region 6. This region has a wide geographic, linguistic, cultural, and population diversity.

Regional Events

Thinking Through Collaboration Training (A Guide for Teacher Effectiveness)
February 25-March 1, 2013 in Guam
Collaborative activity between WRRC and NCRRC
NCRRC, in collaboration with WRRC and with support from Guam CEDDERS, will provide an intensive training program for Pacific entity teams of general educators and special educators to build their knowledge and skills for collaborating and using a decision-making process for ensuring educational success for all students. This training will provide specifics on implementing strategies at the local school level and provide leaders an opportunity to identify ways to support their teachers implementation. In addition to this on-site training, there will post-training activities (on-going coaching and support) to fully train education teams to meaningfully implement the concepts at the school level.

RtI Meeting with the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM)
March 1-2, 2013 in Guam
The FSM Association of Chief State School Officers (FACSSO) has established RtI as a major education improvement intitiative to be implemented within the FSM. The RtI Initiative will focus on reading in grades K-3. This project is designed to improve education outcomes for all students with general education and special education working collaboratively to serve all students. The WRRC is assisting FSM move to implementation of the RtI project through support and follow-up to the Thinking Through Collaboration training they will receive February 24-March 1, 2013 in Guam.
