Diploma Options for Students with Disabilities: Synthesis of NCEO Options (Oct 2007)
This NASDSE Forum publicaiton synthesizes findings reported in NCEO's most recent 2007 study, Revisiting Graduation Requirements and Diploma Options for Youth with Disabilities: A National Study and the comparisons they made to findings from 2002. The purpose of the NCEO national study was to describe current variations across states in high school exit exam practices and the use of alternative diploma/credentialing options. Who Graduates? Who Doesn't? A Statistical Portrait of Public High School Graduation, Class of 2001
This study attempted to generate a statistical aggregate of national levels of graduation rates by state and region, compiled in order to determine ethnicities, economic strata, and geographical regions at risk and for use in determining the effectiveness of methods of dropout prevention and improving graduation rates.
