NMCI works with individuals, organizations, and communities to create a society that is strengthened and empowered by its diversity. It leads efforts to increase communication, understanding, and respect among people of diverse backgrounds and addresses important systemic issues of multiculturalism facing our society. NMCI also offers professional development services via a range of core training programs for building cultural competence, including consultation on creating diversity action plans and developing Diversity Councils, executive coaching, diversity audits, training needs assessments, and evaluations.

The RKR library centers largely on models, curricula, practices, policy, research, and resources generated in general education and related arenas. This project is partnered with the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC), which is part of this RRCP portal. | Closing the Achievement Gap and Increasing Minority Student Achievement: The School Improvement Network |
The School Improvement Network increases student learning by improving teacher quality through professional development resources and services that are practical, research-based, and proven to increase student achievement. They manage entire school improvement programs, including training, evaluation, and ongoing implementation guidance; or they can supplement current efforts with video, online, and CD-ROM-based professional development. Every solution they offer features real teachers in real classrooms applying research-based practices.

SERRC, which is part of this RRCP portal, has a continuing collection of programs, initiatives, reports, guides, and data on issues and solutions concerning achievement gaps; culturally competent practices; dialects and linguistic issues; disproportions and disparities; race and schools; readiness for school; and teachers for high-need schools.
