This call will address local educational agency (LEA) maintenance of effort (MOE) requirements under the IDEA. Included will be discussions of the allowances under 34 CFR §300.204, adjustments under 34 CFR §300.205 and the interaction of the use of funds for Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) under 34 CFR §300.226 and the MOE reduction provision in 34 CFR §300.205.
We will begin with a discussion of excess cost as described in 34 CFR §§300.16 and 300.202, along with the calculation example in Appendix A of the regulations.
