Introduction

The Northeast 619 Coordinators represent IDEA Part B Section 619 preschool special education in the following states:

Section 619 Coordinators are representatives within state agencies, usually within the state's Department of Education or in the instance of Pennsylvania, in the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Child Development. They oversee services to preschoolers with disabilities generally between ages 3 through 5. Often in addition to other responsibilities, these Coordinators duties particular to preschool special education may include:
  • Reporting on Indicators 6, 7, and 12 in the State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report
  • Personnel development for service providers
  • Collaboration with other early care and education agencies and providers
